Founded in 2013 by Erin Scholes, SD Meetings and Events was born out of a strong desire to organize superior meetings and events. Erin combined her expertise in event planning with her passion for helping others to create a dynamic and authentic meetings and events management company.

Erin’s background includes over fifteen years in hotel and event management, with eight years as the Director of Catering & Convention Services at a luxury property in Downtown, San Diego. Her experience in hotel management, along with her position as a hotel executive committee chair, strengthened her leadership and business skills and led her to create SD Meetings & Events.

Over the years, Erin and the SD Meetings and Events team have received numerous awards and recognition for their unparalleled work. A MPI member since 2000, Erin also received the prestigious MPI Chair’s Award at the 2018 World Education Congress.


As a team, we are an extension of your brand. From the moment we join forces, you will feel how invested we are in your success. We will be by your side throughout the entire event journey. You will be paired with a dedicated SDME team member who will assist you with everything from contract negotiation and registration to exhibit management, mobile apps, and full meeting logistics. We draw on our reliable relationships and our growing network of preferred partners to ensure you have access to high-quality catering, audiovisual, décor, transportation, graphic design, and marketing services.
